The City of Ontario is pleased to announce the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is Friday, February 1, 2019, through Sunday, February 3, 2019. If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on February 8, 9, and 10, 2019.


In 2010, the City adopted a yard sale ordinance giving residents the opportunity to hold more sales each year on fixed dates and eliminating the need for yard sale permits and fees. Traffic investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit and run collision. 

On January 12th, 2019 at approximately 4:39 AM, a 22 year old Ontario resident was stuck by a motorist in the intersection of Mission Blvd and Euclid Ave. After the collision, the suspect vehicle continued to drive east on Mission Blvd. 

The suspect vehicle is a dark (possibly red) colored minivan. The vehicle should have collision damage to the front of the vehicle.

Ontario’s Mayor and City Council have unanimously appointed Ruben Valencia to serve as Mayor pro Tem in 2019 for a one-year term. 

Valencia, a Los Angeles County deputy sheriff who was elected to the Ontario City Council in November 2016, was selected as Mayor pro Tem during the Council’s meeting on Tuesday, January 15.

Ontario Police arrested a man suspected of setting fire to seven vehicles at the Folk Inn, located at 204 N. Vineyard Avenue. 

This incident took place on Saturday, January 13, 2019 at 1:50 AM when a suspect poured gasoline onto a vehicle in the parking lot and then lit it on fire. The gasoline spread to six other vehicles, engulfing them in flames before the Ontario Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire.
