Ontario Museum of History & Art Celebrates Accreditation at Quarterly Art Walk
Awarded Accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums, Celebrate Saturday, May 18
Join the Ontario Museum of History & Art at the Art Walk on Saturday, May 18, from 6 PM to 9 PM to celebrate their recent accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums (AAM), the highest national recognition afforded to the nation’s museums.
Participants will be able to explore the Museum, support artisan vendors, enjoy light refreshments and shop at the Museum store. The first 50 in attendance will receive a swag bag filled with Museum branded items. Artist and creative strategist Danielle Giudici Wallis will host a zine making workshop in conjunction with the Museum’s Built on Water exhibition – make your own zine to take home or contribute to a collaborative community zine about water.
Alliance Accreditation brings national recognition to a museum for its commitment to excellence, accountability, high professional standards, and continued institutional improvement. Developed and sustained by museum professionals for 50 years, the Alliance’s museum accreditation program is the field’s primary vehicle for quality assurance, self-regulation, and public accountability. Of the nation’s estimated 33,000 museums, over 1,080 are currently accredited. The Ontario Museum of History & Art is one of only 78 museums accredited in California.
The quarterly Art Walk is held on the third Saturday of February, May, August, and November from 6-9pm with art exhibitions, pop-up galleries, artist talks, creative workshops, live music, and arts events sponsored by local artists, performers, organizations, and businesses in the Downtown Ontario Arts District.
The Ontario Museum of History & Art is located at 225 S. Euclid Avenue, Ontario, CA 91762. The hours are Thursday and Friday, 12 PM to 4 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM. Admission to the Museum and exhibits is free.
