Ontario Police have arrested a man wanted for a homicide that occurred last night in the City of Ontario, CA.
On January 18, 2021 at approximately 7:30 PM, Ontario Police responded to the 300 block of West California Street for a call of a possible shooting. The suspect, Gene Brown, a 32-year-old Pomona resident, was involved in an altercation with the victim in front of a residence. During the altercation, Brown shot the victim multiple times and fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim, a 43-year-old male adult from Ontario, was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
Ontario Police Detectives along with forensic investigators responded to the scene. Through investigative efforts, suspect Brown was identified as the shooter.
Ontario Police located Brown just after 10:30 AM in the City of Ontario and took him into custody without incident.
Brown has been booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of murder.
