INCIDENT: Arrests for Attempted Robbery
Ontario, CA – Ontario Police Officers have arrested four suspects for attempted robbery and conspiracy to commit a crime.
On April 25th, 2024, two victims were at a local bank in the 11000 block of E. Fourth St. in the city of Rancho Cucamonga. As they withdrew cash one of the victims noticed a subject in line, later identified as Dilan Cansino, who was watching them intently.
As the victims drove away from the bank, they noticed a vehicle that was leaving at the same
time. The vehicle began to follow them, despite the victims making several evasive movements.
The victims called Ontario Police and dispatch remained on the line as they coordinated patrol
units to respond to their location.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and detained the occupants, who were identified as Los Angeles County residents: Dilan Cansino, Owen Acero-Pena, Jorgy Vargas, and Maria
Gonzalez. Acero-Pena is also currently on probation for robbery and carjacking out of Los
Angeles County.
Officers were able to place all four suspects at the bank and determined they followed the
victims for over five miles throughout the city. All four were arrested for attempted robbery,
conspiracy to commit a crime and were later booked into West Valley Detention Center.
