The Ontario City Library invites readers of all ages to participate in Ontario Reads Frankenstein from September 1 through October 28, 2017. In honor of the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s famous work, the Ontario City Library will be hosting a variety of programs and presentations for all ages during this time, including a how-to program on creating your own Frankenstein-themed party for adults just in time for Halloween, the showing of popular Frankenstein films, craft programs for youth, and much more for all ages at both Library locations. The Library will also have numerous copies of the book for checkout, and would like to encourage customers to read and discuss Mary Shelley’s book with their family, friends and neighbors.
Ontario Reads Frankenstein will culminate with a visit by horror genre expert and author Les Klinger on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 7 PM at the Ovitt Family Community Library. Klinger will be presenting “Frankenstein’s Legacy: 200 Years With the Creature” and signing his newly published annotated version of Frankenstein. Books will be for sale at this event. For more information call the Library at (909) 395 2004 or email Shawn Thrasher, Assistant Library Director, at sthrasher@ontarioca.gov.
