From Pop-up to Permanent: Street Culture Boutique Finds a Home in Downtown Ontario

Ontario, CA — The City of Ontario Economic Development Agency is excited to announce that Street Culture Boutique, a standout participant of the Downtown Retail Pop-Up Program, is opening its permanent location in Downtown Ontario on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Street Culture Boutique began its journey in the City's Retail Pop-Up Program, which provides select businesses with short-term access to city-owned retail space. Operating at 141 N Euclid Avenue for a year, the boutique paid a $1 monthly rent with complimentary utilities and Wi-Fi. The program allows emerging entrepreneurs to test the local market affordably while receiving support with permitting, marketing, and connections to the Downtown Ontario Improvement Association (DOIA).

"This initiative is part of Ontario's commitment to revitalizing Downtown by helping entrepreneurs launch their businesses without high start-up costs," said Jennifer McLain Hiramoto, Ontario's Executive Director of Economic Development. "We're thrilled to see Street Culture Boutique take this next step, evolving from a pop-up to a permanent presence in our downtown."

Street Culture Boutique, co-owned and operated by Steven Alvarez, Robert Corona, and Jonathan Anaya, is a hub for urban fashion enthusiasts and a tribute to Ontario's thriving arts scene. Ontario natives Steven, Robert, and Jonathan share a deep passion for urban style and their community, crediting the City of Ontario's Downtown Retail Pop-Up Program for making their transition from pop-up to a permanent shop possible.

Located at 209 W Holt Blvd in Downtown Ontario's Arts District, Street Culture Boutique offers a curated selection of vintage sneakers, apparel, and accessories. Specializing in new and pre-owned items, the boutique brings a unique shopping experience to those seeking standout streetwear, limited-edition finds, and unique brands. With an emphasis on quality and style, Street Culture Boutique has everything you need to elevate your look—making it the go-to destination for streetwear.

The City has invested heavily in transforming Downtown Ontario into a vibrant, walkable community. Recent developments are anticipated to bring 750 new employees, 600 residential units, 13,000 square feet of retail space, and a new University of La Verne College of Health Campus.

By securing this permanent storefront, Street Culture Boutique joins a growing wave of businesses contributing to Downtown Ontario's revitalization, helping to create a dynamic district that celebrates the area's history and culture. Small businesses are the backbone of Ontario's economy, and this new addition is expected to spark further growth and community engagement in the heart of the City.
