Due to rainfall in Ontario on Saturday, May 6, 2017, the yard (garage) sale dates for May will be extended for one more full-weekend. In observance of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 14, the extended weekend will take place on May 19, 20 and 21, 2017 (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). The third yard sale weekend of 2017 will be August 4, 5 and 6.
In 2010, the City adopted a yard sale ordinance giving residents the opportunity to hold more sales each year on fixed dates and eliminating the need for yard sale permits and fees. Approved yard sale dates are the first full weekend months of February, May, August, and November. The rules for signs (one 6 square foot sign on the owner’s property) and rules for merchandise sold (seller’s personal property only, no new or re-sold goods) will remain unchanged.
