The Ontario Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify two suspects, who have committed multiple armed robberies of Charley’s Philly Steaks located at One Mills Cir, Suite FC07. To date, the most recent robberies of the local eatery took place on Friday, July 7 and Monday, July 10.
On Friday, July 7, 2017 at approximately 11:15 a.m., a black male (18-20 years old, 509- 600 feet tall, thin build, with cropped hair) forced his way through a backdoor and into the store. Armed with a knife, the suspect ordered employees to open the safe. The suspect then fled from the location, with approximately $3,000. No vehicle was seen. Witnesses said the suspect was wearing a black or blue t-shirt, black basketball shorts, and tennis shoes with white soles.
On Monday, July 10, 2017, at approximately 5:15 p.m., the suspect and an additional black male (18-20 years old, 507-508 feet tall, medium build, with dark hair and a short beard) returned to the store. Through a ruse, the suspects forced entry through the backdoor armed with a chrome and black colored handgun. After a short scuffle with an employee, the suspects learned the safe could not be opened. The suspects then grabbed all of the employees’ bags, purses and belongings before running out of the back of the store. Witnesses said they drove away in a newer model, maroon, Ford or Chevy, four-door sedan. Witnesses said the first suspect was wearing the same colored clothes as on the July 7. The second suspect was wearing a dark blue or black t-shirt, with tan or light brown pants.
